Video: Firefighters Battle Mobile Home Fire, Spreads to Additional Buildings in Brentwood

At 2:49 pm Friday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a mobile home on fire near structures in the 2900 block of Anderson Lane in Brentwood.

While responding, units were advised it was an abandoned mobile home fully involved threatening a nearby structure. As units were headed to the scene, a large column of black smoke was observed and was determined to be a working fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the fire had spread to multiple outbuildings and containers as well as vehicles. It also created a small vegetation fire. By 3:39 pm, the fire was contained, however, heavy mop up was required and crews were expected to remain on scene well into the evening.

Assisting the 3-station fire district which had all units committed was Contra Costa County Fire and CALFIRE.

According to ECCFPD, at least one firefighter was treated on scene for heat-related illness and one civilian sustained burns to his leg and was treated by AMR.

The cause of the fire was not yet known. Both Brentwood Police and Oakley Police also responded to the scene to provide assistance while fire crews worked the fire.
