Vegetation Fire on Tassajara Prompts Evacuation Warning

At 6:15 pm, San Ramon Valley Fire and CALFIRE responded to a report of a vegetation fire in he 6600 block of Old School Road in Tassajara and was estimated at 8-10 acres in size with a potential to grow.

It was reported that at least one structure had burned to the ground and was wind-driven.

A message from the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office as of 7:45 pm:

Prepare to Evacuate near Finley Road and Morgan Territory due to a fast moving fire.

This is a message from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. Due to a fire near Old School Road in the Tassajara area residents near the northern end of Finley Road and along Morgan Territory Road east of Finley Road should prepare to evacuate. This is an evacuation warning. No evacuation has been ordered at this time, but it is possible one may become necessary. You should prepare now in case an evacuation is ordered. Gather any important items you could carry with you, including medications, baby supplies, money, important papers, and photos. Locate any pets or animals and be prepared to cage or leash them. If you require additional time to evacuate, you should leave now. You will receive further instructions if an evacuation becomes necessary.
