Vasco Road Shut Down After Vehicle Crash Monday Afternoon

At 3:09 pm Monday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle crash with rescue in the area of Vasco Road and Camino Diablo.

Upon arrival, ECCFPD located two vehicles in a ditch with major damage. They requested an additional medical unit along with a medical helicopter. They also requested CHP to shut down the roadway so that a medical helicopter could land on scene.

At 3:30 pm, ECCFPD requested a second medical helicopter.

By 3:45 pm, a second helicopter (CHP) lifted off. The roadway is still shut down.

Vasco Road and Kirker Pass are the two most dangerous areas here.
