The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a traffic crash on Vasco Road near the county line. Alameda County Fire arrived on scene reporting a single vehicle with major damaged with the patient in critical condition. Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash.
A medical helicopter was requested to the scene.
According to CHP, as of 8:50 am, both directions are now closed.

One day maybe the CHP will stop the NASCAR races on Vasco. I know they try but it remains a sErious issue. Even better , the county to make it safer by adding a lane and a barrier all the way.
CHP has been working Hwy 4…over 200 ticketed in one week. Keep it up CHP.

Can someone please clarify? This says single vehicle major damage with multiple Vehicles involved. CHP traffic site says this as hit and run. What’s the right one? There was definitely a medical helicopter because I heard it on dispatch. Thanks!
That car who crashed almost rear ended me so I had to pull to the shoulder to let him go, then he alalmost hit a suburban in front of me after he passed me, then he moved to the upcoming traffic, after that a minute after I’ve seen he crashed into a utility truck, the truck driver was fine cause I asked but then I seen the guy who was driving like crazy on the passenger side of his crashed vehicle, I seriously thought it was dead after I seen him just laying there, it’s crazy how people just risk there life but way more crazy risk others peoples life for your stupidity
