US Coast Guard Searching for Man Who Jumped into Delta Waters for his Hat

At 5:16 pm Saturday, authorities began a water rescue and search for a man who went into the water to retrieve a hat just east of the Antioch Bridge.

According to authorities, a male in his 50’s jumped into the delta waters to retrieve his hat and never surfaced.

The search included the US Coast Guard, Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff, Contra Costa County Fire and East Contra Costa Fire was staged at the Antioch-Oakley Pier along with AMR.

The search was ongoing for several hours and no update as of 9:00 pm
