Update: Firefighters Contain Vegetation Fire to 75-Acres in Knightsen

For the third time this month, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District has responded to the area of Holland Tract Road at Tranquility Bay Road in the Town of Knigthsen for a report of a vegetation fire.

The call came in at 2:14 pm Monday and a cloud of white smoke was reported as units were responding.

As of 2:35 pm, the fire was estimated at 2 acres with heavy scrubs and trees on fire. They were also battling heavy winds. Structure protection was also requested as a precaution.

3:39 pm Update
Fire is wind driven and grown to 20 acres. Additional units requested.

4:05 pm Update
Battalion 8 requested law enforcement to assist with evacuations along the levee road after the fire crossed the road. A type 3 strike team (5, 4×4 fire engines) are responding from, San Ramon, Moraga, Concord, and Antioch.

4:40 pm Update:
The fire is 40-acres with 0% containment. Sheriffs Office assisting with evacuations.

FINAL UPDATE
The fire was contained to 75-acres and was likely started by maintenance work cutting vegetation. No structures were lost.

All these fires in this same general area over the last three weeks, are awfully suspicious considering the related fire tax they keep trying to pass on us.
The People have said no and they continue to bring it back up.

I think they are being purposefully set.
