Update: Contra Costa Health Reports 250 Coronavirus Cases, 3 Deaths

On Wednesday, Contra Costa Health Services is now reporting 250 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the county, which is 38 more than yesterday.

The county has also confirmed there have been three coronavirus-related deaths in Contra Costa.

The numbers come after the Tuesday County Board of Supervisors meeting where Health Officer Chris Farnitanohe said models estimate that anywhere between 2,000 to 14,000 people could die from coronavirus in the county. He also said that for each positive test, it could mean 5-to-10 other people could also be positive who are not being tested.

  • March 24 – 86 cases / 1 death
  • March 23 – 71 cases / 1 death
  • March 19 – 42 cases
  • March 18 – 41 cases
  • March 8 – 9 cases
  • March 3 – First confirmed case in the county

The health department continues to maintain its stance that it is not going to be releasing the cities of those infected or hospitalized.
