Updated: Brentwood Police Make Arrest in La Charrita Market Stabbing

BRENTWOOD, CA – On May 27, 2016 at 1:32 pm the Brentwood Police Department received a report of a subject who had been stabbed at La Charrita Market located at 8560 Brentwood Blvd Brentwood, CA.

When officers arrived they found a 33 year old Hispanic Male Adult, a resident of Brentwood, with a stab wound to his back. The victim was exiting the store when a Hispanic Male Adult 18 – 23 years of age followed the victim out of the store and stabbed him in the back.

Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a red hat, white t-shirt, black shorts, and a sling style black backpack with an Oakland Raiders logo. The suspect fled the area on foot and is still outstanding.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to Brentwood Police Lieutenant Tim Herbert, their preliminary investigation of the incident appears to be gang related with the victim being a targeted and does not appear to be a random act.

Brentwood Police Lt. Tim Herbert confirmed Friday evening that at 7:00 pm, they took Marco Salazar, 20 of Brentwood, into custody without incident on Sycamore Drive as a suspect in today’s stabbing. No booking photo is available at this time.
