Tri Delta Transit Make Several Changes to Service Routes

Press Release

by ECT

Antioch, CA, – In October 2020, Eastern Contra Costa Transit Authority (Tri Delta Transit) sought community input to improve fixed route service. Tri Delta Transit worked with a consultant, Advanced Mobility Group (AMG), to conduct vast community outreach called Transform Tri Delta Transit with the goal of learning more about what eastern Contra Costa communities need and how they envision the future of Tri Delta Transit’s service.

“Tri Delta Transit regularly evaluates their service, but felt it was important to hear from the people and communities we serve,” stated CEO Transition Officer Jeanne Krieg.

In fall 2021, Transform Tri Delta Transit launched a follow-up community outreach campaign with a survey about proposed changes that were based on the 2020 Transform survey results. The survey focused on which of the suggested improvements were the greatest value to residents and transit riders.

Tri Delta Transit heard what the community had to say and on September 12, 2022 will transform their service, making several significant changes:

  • Express routes will now be identified by having an X in their number series.  Routes 200, 201, 202 and are now 200X, 201X, 202X.  Route 300 will become an express route 300X. Routes were evaluated and runs made faster.
  • Weekend routes were restructured.  The current routes are replaced with weekday routes that cover more of the service area.  Routes 392, 393, 394, and 396 will no longer be in service.  Weekday routes 380, 381, 388, 389, and 391 will run Saturday, Sundays and Holidays.
  • Route 395 serving the Streets of Brentwood will run seven days a week.
  • Route 383 Blue Goose Park to Antioch BART will service the Oakley Park & Ride.

Tri Delta Transit also announced recently the completion of the Oakley Park & Ride at Main northwest of Cypress. Routes 300x, 383, and 391 will service the park & ride, taking riders to BART, schools, medical facilities, and recreational areas.
