State Senator and Farmer Brian Dahle Announces His Run For Governor of California

by ECT

SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, California State Senator and Farmer Brian Dahle announced his run for Governor of California.

“California isn’t a failed state; we have a failure of leadership. Our state is overtaxed, over-regulated and
underperforming in all critical services sectors. As parents feel deep anxiety over their children falling further behind, this administration adopted the strategy of dispute, half-truths, and finger-pointing. People want to believe again in the California Dream. The consequences of failure are too great,” Dahle said.

“We often hear that politicians cannot be trusted. That is a sentiment earned by lawmakers who say one thing and do another. I commit to telling you the TRUTH about why the government is failing and what can be done to fix it and turn this state around. It is time to retire the show pony and get a workhorse for California.”

Brian Dahle began his career in public service when his neighbors recruited him to serve on the regional Farm Service Agency board. His community elected him to the Lassen County Board of Supervisors, and after four terms he ran for a seat in the state Legislature, where he has represented northeastern California since 2012.

He continues to operate his family’s farm and seed business back home in Bieber, where he and his wife,
Megan Dahle, have raised their three children — Chase, Reagan and Roslyn.

“As a small-business owner, I live the effects of bad policies made in Sacramento every day,” Dahle said. “The high cost of living is a huge burden for families and for businesses alike, and it is pushing a shocking number of both to simply flee for the state line.

“California is an amazing and beautiful state, but it is being run into the ground by Sacramento politicians. I am dedicated to restoring the California promise for ordinary families.”

Note – speakers for the press conference begins at the 11:30 min mark. Dahle begins speaking at the 13:20 min mark.

About Brian Dahle

Brian Dahle was born and raised in Northern California, working as a child on the family farm in Lassen County. When he graduated from high school, he worked in a lumber mill, in construction, and as an operating engineer before returning to agriculture.

It was his neighbors who sent him on his career in public service, on the regional Farm Service Agency board.  His community elected him to the Lassen County Board of Supervisors, and after four terms he ran for a seat in the California Legislature, where he has served since 2012.

He continues to operate his family’s farm and seed business back home in Bieber, where he and his wife, Megan Dahle, have raised their three children Chase, Reagan and Roslyn. In public life he has learned what works in government and what does not.

As a small-business owner, he has learned firsthand what it’s like to have your life’s work regulated to death by the state bureaucracy thanks to politicians who think they can solve every problem in the world if they just pass one more bill.  As a husband and father, he knows that all Californians deserve to be safe from crime and have a good school.

Bad decisions in Sacramento have given Californians a crushing housing shortage with little new construction but tent cities everywhere. We pay the highest electric bills in the West despite chronic blackouts.  We pump the most expensive gasoline in America even as the state refuses to put its high taxes to use to widen highways and relieve congestion.  We’re a prosperous state but have the nation’s worst poverty rate adjusting for the cost of living thanks largely to decisions made in Sacramento.

Ordinary Californians need a government that understands their needs and will work for them, and a governor who’ll say no to a Legislature that thinks it needs to pass a thousand new laws every year.

Yes, indeed everything Mr. Dahle states is true….and more. And if this state weren’t over populated with carpetbagging idiots, he might stand a chance. Unfortunately, as the Recall proved, the majority are just too stupid to right this ship and whatever natives & people with a shred of commonsense remain in our once great state, are fucked.

I have no opinion on Mr. Dahle one way or the other but his election, bar other reforms, will not change much. What California voters need to do is stop electing morons of the left and right and start electing pragmatic moderates to the legislature. Alas, there is no sign of that happening. Moderates can’t even get nominated any more.

He is getting his 7 minutes of fame with this announcement. His candidacy is DOA, and he knows it. The voting centers of this state will not elect a Republican to any state office for a very long time. That’s why the best candidate for Attorney General is calling herself an Independent. So, good for the Senator. Enjoy the publicity

The same can be said about the Attorney General candidate ….
