Updated Special Election Results: Glazier, Bonilla Lead in Senate Race

In the Special Election to fill the vacant 7th Senate District seat, Orinda Mayor Steve Glazier and Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla are leading just before midnight Tuesday. Both are democrats.

Here is a look at the Statewide Results: 100.0% ( 645 of 645 ) precincts partially reporting as of March 17, 2015, 11:42 p.m

  • Steve Glazier (D) – 31,859 (32.8%)
  • Susan Bonilla (D) – 24,161 (24.9%)
  • Joan Buchanan (D) – 21,912 (22.6%)
  • Michaela Hertle (R) – 16,462 (17%)
  • Terry Kremin (D) – 2.710 (2.8%)

The top two finishers of tonight’s Primary will go onto a runoff scheduled for May 19th to fill a seat left vacant by Mark DeSaunlier, who resigned after winning a Congressional Seat and replacing George Miller.

Mail-in ballots handed in at City Clerk’s offices won’t be picked up until Wednesday morning and taken to the County Elections Office to be counted.

Proof that Republicans are idiots. Michaela Hertle who dropped out received 15,554 votes.

Proof that they vote early. I think those numbers could be absentee.
Then again, they could simply be making a statement.
