Six Dr. Seuss Books Will Not Be Published Anymore

by ECT
Dr Seuss

On Dr. Seuss’ birthday, the company announced that six books will no longer be published because they portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.

The books include:

  • And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,
  • If I Ran the Zoo, McElligot’s Pool,
  • On Beyond Zebra!,
  • Scrambled Eggs Super!
  • The Cat’s Quizzer

The following statement was posted on their website:

Today, on Dr. Seuss’s Birthday, Dr. Seuss Enterprises celebrates reading and also our mission of supporting all children and families with messages of hope, inspiration, inclusion, and friendship.

We are committed to action.  To that end, Dr. Seuss Enterprises, working with a panel of experts, including educators, reviewed our catalog of titles and made the decision last year to cease publication and licensing of the following titles:  And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, If I Ran the Zoo, McElligot’s Pool, On Beyond Zebra!, Scrambled Eggs Super!, and The Cat’s Quizzer.  These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.

Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’s catalog represents and supports all communities and families.

I feel bad for this generation. Offended by everything. I hope this isn’t the new norm, we can’t silence everything we disagree in.

This is incredible. What has happened to our Country. The home of the brave has turned to the home of too sensitive. Americans are really failing this generation and yet blood curdling violent video games are just fine. Sounds like the kids are parenting the parents.

I’m still upset about Notre Dame…..
Fighting Irish…? I’m offended….
Shouldn’t it be Drunken Fighting Irish?
I mean, we need a reason to fight.

PC run amok. Dr. Seuss is no good, but violent, mysogynistic video games and rappers are OK.
