Its a big weekend for East County as Coastal Cleanup along the Delta will be occurring Saturday with volunteer opportunities in Antioch at 3-locations. Meanwhile, the Friends of Marshcreek Watershed have 8 locations for volunteers to choose from. Of course, for those looking to kick back and enjoy good music and food, we highly recommend the free Antioch Delta Blues Festival which will occur between noon – 7:30 PM at Waldie Plaza in Antioch.
Finally, on Sunday, our proud sponsor Brownstone Gardens is hosting a picture day open house which allows you to bring your own photographer from 4-8pm and take family portraits on their beautiful facility.

Antioch Coastal Clean Up: The 29th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day, the state’s largest volunteer event, will take place on Saturday, September 21st, 2013. The event is expected to draw more than 70,000 volunteers who will combat marine debris at over 800 locations throughout the state by removing the trash that has accumulated on California’s beaches and inland shorelines over the past year. It’s great to see positive events in this area. I hope that the rain showers on Saturday won’t hurt attendance.
