SACRAMENTO – Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino) released the following statement regarding the importance of recognizing the pervasive public health impacts of racism:
“As we hear the righteous anger from communities across California in response to the death of George Floyd and the many others before him, it is critical that the scourge of racism be recognized for what it is: a public health crisis. In a very real way, racism perpetuates disparities between whites and blacks in socioeconomic, health, education and practically all other measurable outcomes. Racism has a damaging impact on access to health care and other vital needs of individuals and communities in our state. By clearly declaring racism a public health crisis and an ongoing threat to people of color—though particularly Black Americans—we will only then be able to truly address the systemic racism and discrimination that has oppressed millions of Californians throughout its history.”
“In response to much public input and appeals by the community, San Bernardino County leaders recently responded to the demands of people of all races and directed staff to draft a resolution declaring racism as a public health crisis. As someone who has lived in San Bernardino County since I was a small child, I appreciate the important message this action would send. By making a similar statewide public declaration, California would also solidify its commitment to ending racism across the state in all sectors, including jobs, education, housing and health care. It is absolutely unacceptable that Black Americans are disproportionately more likely to drop out of school, live in a food desert, die from coronavirus or—as we have seen far too many times—be killed by law enforcement than whites.”
“In the coming weeks and months, I commit to continue working in Sacramento and across the 20th State Senate District to advance this important dialogue that will help communities of color by focusing on the needs of residents most impacted by this public health crisis.”

This woman is insane! What “righteous anger?” Over this habitual criminal’s death? This Leyva woman doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the guy! GOOD RIDDANCE!
Most of this is a bunch of lies put out by the Black Liars Matter bunch. George Floyd died at the hospital from a heart attack due to the excitement and also to the large number of illegal drugs in his system. He served time for cocaine, meth, other illegal drug sales. He also served time or strong-armed robbery, kidnapping, hostage-taking, numerous assaults on people, thefts. He put a gun to a pregnant woman’s belly and told her he would kill her AND the baby! Is that whom the Black Liars Matter bunch is celebrating? He was a habitual offender.

Racism issues need to be addressed, but this is totally the wrong mechanism to do so. Just another ineffectual politician who wants to be seen as “doing something.”
Where is there a law anywhere in the world saying one cannot be racist? Every culture has this and there is nothing anyone can do about it. It’s human nature. You can address it until hell freezes over and it won’t do one bid of good. We have Freedom of Speech and EXPRESSION and we are not mandated to accept everyone as a friend and that’s good. I treat people the way I want to be treated, but there are people who espouse cultures which I find offensive.
Yes! We have freedom of speech AND association. It is our duty to point out and have criminals punished anyway possible. The criminal element in this country —- and we know who they are —- has it pretty good! Let them try it in another country which doesn’t have laws cuddling them and see where it gets them. I’ve lived in other countries, both European and Asian ones, and I’ve seen how effective their laws are. Think of places like Singapore and Egypt.. . and, of course, there is Saudi Arabia.

To all people who are appalled by the violence, the looting: There are ways we as a country can become better:
1: Stop identity politics and stop talking about race. The only reason people believe this is a big problem is because the media tell them so. Watch what Morgan Freeman said on this topic.
2: Most importantly, vote the democratic identity politics race racist out. They are the root of the problem.
3: One addition to democrat people: Please stop voting with your emotions, start voting with your brains. You have destroyed California.

Maybe peace could be maintained if we all resorted to have our countries be ethnocentric. Many countries are like that and no one is causing problems with race. Think of Poland, Serbia, Croatia, The Czechs, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, European Russia, Ukraine. Those countries are not experiencing the problems we have here in the United States which consists of different cultures. This continent was discovered by EUROPEANS for Europeans and no one else. Suddenly, everybody and their dog thinks they can have a chunk of it and, guess what? You get troubles! Remember the story of the Tower of Babel?
I agree! That’s why I’ve maintained my properties in Japan. We do not have problems like these in that country. We actually don’t like having the “gaijin” (foreigners) there, but we tolerate tourists up to a certain extent.
LIBERAL DEMOCRATS should be declared at a PUBLIC HEATH CRISIS! No group has done more to suppress and destroy the black community than liberal democrats! They eliminated the need for a FATHER in the home – US TAXPAYERS are now the “baby daddy”! They eliminated the need for black children to LEARN – liberal education gives unfair advantages and destroyed personal responsibility! They eliminated the HONOR gained from WORKING and SUPPORTING a FAMILY – welfare and AA took care of those! So yeah, RACISM is an issue and the DEMOCRATS should be WELL VERSED in it since THEY are the ones who depend on it to survive politically!

Actually, if you really want to see racism, take a trip to Russia. They have posters in their kiosks in the middle of Moscow and St. Petersburg, showing Obama as a simian. The former U.S. ambassador to Russia even petitioned President Putin to have those posters removed, but Putin said, “Nyet!”
If I were born in a country and realized that things are not as I would like them to be, I look for a country where I would feel more accepted. I would not hang around and start challenging the dominant culture because I would lose.
