Senator Harris Statement on Trump’s Decision to End DACA

by ECT

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following President Donald Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris, a member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and co-sponsor of the DREAM Act and the Agricultural Worker Program Act, released the following statement:

“DACA recipients make our nation strong and represent the best of America. The President’s decision undermines our nation’s values and is a cruel betrayal to the more than 800,000 young people, including more than 200,000 Californians, who have only ever known the United States of America as their home.

“Dreamers are Americans in every way except a piece of paper. With this decision, President Trump is telling classmates of our children they don’t belong, employees of Fortune 100 companies they aren’t welcome, and saying to those who serve in our military and run small businesses that they should leave. These young people deserve better than that. They came out of the shadows and submitted every detail of their personal lives to prove that they were lawful, productive members of our society. By turning his back on our young Dreamers and their families, President Trump has once again sided with division and hate.

“The consequences of this decision will be devastating. It will split up families, force young people back to countries they never knew, and cost our economy billions of dollars. It is heartless.

“Now more than ever, it is time we roll up our sleeves and stand with these young people who contribute to our community and our economy. Republicans in Congress must immediately allow a vote on the DREAM Act, a bipartisan bill we introduced again this summer. We are better than this.”

It’s really laughable that as a US Senator, Kamala Harris, has no clue that ONLY Congress can make laws and Obama’s executive order regarding DACA was and is, illegal.

If Harris is looking for someone to blame look no farther than the parents or guardians who brought their children here illegally. Secondly, blame Barack Obama who setup these kids for deportation. When Obama signed the executive order he stated himself that he knew he didn’t have power to give these people amnesty but he did it anyway.

Americans fully support legal immigration and we should NOT have sympathy for individuals who thumb their nose at our laws and enter our country illegally. I really don’t care how long they have been here or if this is the only country they know they are here illegally and have no rights or benefits that comes with being born in the United States. Every Nation has a right to protect and defend their borders and anyone who enters, regardless of their age or race, should be immediately removed and returned to their country of origin and if they wish to come back they need to apply and wait their turn like everyone else.

There’s enough resources to go around Gary. You should know that, you fought for the elitists in suits with all the money and resources playing the world like a game of monopoly. Keep acting like you fought for “our freedom”- how laughable. The elite bypass sovereignty, laws, freedoms, etc. because they can pay for it. Poor Mexicans can’t.

I totally agree with Gary. He couldn’t have said it any better.

Gary Gilbert you put the blame where it belongs. Obama wanted to be a hero with these people and now they will have to pay the price. I don’t know what Obama hope to gaineybe more illegal votes. There is nothing free in this world and that includes citizenship.

According to Senator Harris we must not send anyone to jail because the process separates the law breaking parent from their children. Pathetic logic from an emotional decision driven Senator.

Gary is right. So, Harris needs to get to work on that piece of paper. She is one of the politicians who has dropped the ball by ignoring illegals who have broken the law. If she feels that California the welfare state with 20 percent of the illegals here are entitled then she needs to get congress to make a law. Quit bi…chin and change the law or enforce it. Frazier, Glazier, and Harris are not representing the laws they swore to uphold when taking office. Either change it or deport illegals. You can’t have both.
