San Ramon: US Bank Robbed, Suspect Briefly Takes Hostage

The San Ramon Police Department released photographs from a bank robbery that occurred Monday.

According to Police, February 6, 2017, at approximately 12:03 pm, officers were dispatched to a report of a bank robbery at the US Bank, located at 2821 Crow Canyon Road.

During the subsequent investigation it was learned that the suspect entered the bank at approx. 11:59 am.  The suspect contacted several bank tellers and demanded money, telling them to give him large bills.

During the robbery, the suspect was observed to be in possession of a firearm, thought to be a revolver.  Prior to leaving the bank, the suspect directed one of the employees to accompany him out of the building.  The suspect walked with the employee for approx. 150 yards to a residential area at which point he directed her to return to the bank.

The suspect was described as a white male adult, approx. 40-45 years of age, with gray colored facial hair (stubble).  He was wearing a dark colored pea coat, gray hooded sweatshirt, black beanie, dark colored trousers and dark colored cotton or wool gloves.
