San Pablo Police Announce Arrest in Fatal Hit and Run Collision

The San Pablo Police Department announce the arrest of Jesse Dubois, 30 of Richmond, at his home after a hit and run crash involving a vehicle versus bicycle in San Pablo on Saturday morning.

San Pablo, CA – On Saturday May 7, 2022 at 12:16 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit & run collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist in the area of Rumrill Blvd at 19th St in San Pablo. Officers arrived and located a 68-year old male lying in the intersection suffering from severe injuries from the collision.

Officers attempted life saving measures at the scene but tragically the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to his family. The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene prior to officers arriving.

Detectives were called to the scene and assumed the investigation. Using Public Safety Cameras, Detectives were able to quickly identify the suspect vehicle, a 2011 burgundy Nissan Sentra.

Later in the day on Saturday at 1:50 p.m., Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit located and arrested the suspect, 30-year old Jesse Dubois, at his residence in the 700 block of Market Ave in Richmond. The suspect vehicle was also located with damage consistent with being involved in the collision. Alcohol and/or drug use has not been ruled out as contributing factors.

The suspect was subsequently booked into Contra Costa County Jail on charges of felony hit & run and vehicular manslaughter. There are currently no outstanding suspects in this case.

We are thankful for the response and thorough investigation of our Patrol Officers and Detective Units. Their efforts brought a quick resolution for the victim’s family.
