Richmond Police Confiscate Drugs, Money and Guns

by ECT

The Richmond Police Department announced its detectives confiscated drugs, money and guns after an extensive investigation.

RPD’s Narcotics Unit detectives within the Special Investigations Services (SIS) division received a tip from an anonymous resident about possible suspicious activities in the 500 block of 25th St. Based on that tip, the team conducted an investigation on the location and resident. After several weeks of investigation, Detective Domenici obtained a search warrant for the residence.

A service of the search warrant was conducted at the house and the 30 yr. old suspect was arrested. Detectives located the following at the house:

* Over 1/2 pound of cocaine
* 222 Xanax pills
* 60 amphetamine pills
* 35 grams of MDMA (ecstasy)
* $38,000 in cash
* Stolen .357 Sig Sauer pistol out of Georgia
* .25 caliber semi-auto pistol with obliterated serial number

The street value for the recovered cocaine totaled to $8,000, and the pills totaled to $1,500.

The department is proud of the efforts detectives have made to take these dangerous drugs off the streets, and we are proud to have such a great relationship with our community that provides us with valuable tips on illegal activities. Crime prevention and reduction is everyone’s responsibility; we appreciate the residents who stepped up to report unusual activities that occurred at this residence.

Like most Americans, I’ve seen what the drug trade does. Our best friends lost a son to long term addiction followed by incarceration, halfway house and death at age 25. He was hooked in middle school. Thus, I believe anyone convicted of directly or indirectly selling drugs to a minor should receive a mandatory death sentence. Drugs fuel crime, from petty to murder, and our prisons are bulging with arrogant dealers honing their skills for the day they’re released.
