Rep. McNerney’s Response to the House’s Second Impeachment of President Trump

Congressman Jerry McNerney

Stockton, CA – In response to today’s vote by the U.S. House of Representatives to impeach President Trump for incitement of the violent and deadly insurrection that took place at the U.S. Capitol, Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-09) issued the following statement:

“Today, I voted to impeach President Trump for the second time to protect our nation and our democracy against a would-be tyrant. This is a moment that will define our nation for generations to come. One year ago, the House took up articles of impeachment against President Trump for abuse of power. The Republican-controlled Senate refused to seriously consider these charges and voted against impeaching the President. As a result, there were no repercussions for the President’s actions, which only served to further embolden him. He is a threat to our democracy, and yet Republicans in Congress have repeatedly excused and ignored his dangerous behavior and rhetoric.

“President Trump began his presidency speaking of American carnage, and as he ends his time in the White House, he has led his followers to lay siege at the seat of our government, directly inciting and provoking that carnage. In order to preserve our democracy, there must be consequences for sedition, and the rule of law must be upheld.”

Rep. Jerry McNerney proudly serves the constituents of California’s 9th Congressional District that includes portions of San Joaquin, Contra Costa, and Sacramento Counties. For more information on Rep. McNerney’s work, follow him on Facebook and on Twitter @RepMcNerney.

So who do we impeach for all the months & months of BLM violence, death and destruction?! Would it be you Mr. McNerney for not protecting we the people?

What about all the House Representatives who incited & excused that BLM violence and destruction of government & private property?

All the Representatives who actually told people to confront people in restaurants? Is that not Incitement? Why isn’t the House of Representatives going after these people? The hypocrisy is unbelievable.

Trump is a a Hero! He confronted Iran who continues to surreptitiously produce nuclear weapon capability even though the deal Obama negotiated was supposed to stop that development, but didn’t! Trump got other countries to contribute a more fair share to NATO. He improved the trade inbalance with China. He closed the Border that was being overrun by illegals. He convinced companies to stay in the USA, which resulted in the best economy we’ve seen in many years. And he got that economic surge started before he had even taken office. The black unemployment rate dropped to the lowest it has ever been! And the overall unemployment rate dropped to a 45 year low! He opened up our oil reserves so that we were no longer at the mercy of countries who provided us with fuel. He brought the 1,000 bed USNS Comfort Hospital Ship to New York harbor to treat Covid patients. And lastly, he facilitated getting a vaccine developed and approved in less than a year which is unheard of.

And He did all this while the Democrats continued to attack him at every turn. The man is phenomenal. Our country benefited from having a non-politician as the President. And the Democrats are beside themselves and have done absolutely nothing productive in the four years Trump has been president.

So Rep. McNerney…Just Stop pursuing impeachment.

If we’re lucky, we will get Trump back after Biden has run this country into the ground and hopefully before we see a president Kamela Harris.

This entire waste of our tax dollars is insulting. Impeaching a lame duck president? Government is too big and has too much money with a lot of time on their hands. Some say impeaching Trump again keeps him from running for office again. That is also insulting because it robs the people of their choice. I can’t wait until this garbage blows over so we can finally get back to the people’s business.

I don’t have much respect for McNerney! On January 20, 2017, he did not show up for the inauguration of President Trump and the following day I called his DC office asking why he did not attend! Some flunky informed me that the Congressman had a previous engagement! What total BULLSHIT! “Previous engagement” MY ASS!

I made a list of President Trump’s accomplishments in the 4 years he’s been our leader. They are monumental and no president ever accomplished as much as Trump did.
