The National Weather Service in San Francisco has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 5 PM PDT Thursday.
* AFFECTED AREA…Fire weather zones 511 and 512, which include the East Bay Hills and the Diablo Range, as well as the Santa Cruz Mountains.
* WIND…Northerly. Ridgetops up to 20 mph sustained with gusts to 35 mph late tonight into Thursday morning. Winds will taper off but remain northerly late Thursday morning into the afternoon.
* HUMIDITY…Poor overnight recoveries tonight. Locally as low as 25 to 35 percent in the driest areas. Daytime minimum humidities as low as the upper single digits to low teens in the driest areas.
* IMPACTS…any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
