Pleasanton Police Catch Mountain Lion, Set to Release Back into Wild

by ECT

On Monday, the Pleasanton Police Department was advised of a mountain lion spotted in the 3800 block of Hopyard Road in the City of Pleasanton.

Police immediately responded around 4:30 pm and closed the road in both direction as they worked to remove the year old mountain lion as they had to deploy four tranquilize doses.

By 8:20 pm, the mountain lion was finally sleeping and they approached it to remove it from bushes. Police said the mountain lion was healthy and would be rereleased back into the wild.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife also responded to the incident.
