On November 5, at 10:26 am, BART Police reported multiple calls via 9-1-1 of a male suspect chasing patrons on the platform and throwing things at them.
BART Police say a female victim came forward and stated that she was spat on and scratched on her face by the male suspect. At some point during the incident the male suspect was also pepper sprayed by an unidentified patron on the platform.
The male was subsequently contacted on the platform by a BART officer and was physically taken to the ground and taken into custody.
Pittsburg Police also responded and assisted with identifying witnesses.
The female victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. The male was transported and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for the battery and issued a prohibition order.
