Pedestrian Struck in Rollover Crash on Kirker Pass Road Sunday Morning

At 5:50 am Sunday, Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a report of a rollover crash on Kirker Pass Road near Hess that involved a pedestrian.

According to initial reports, the pedestrian was conscious and breathing, but sustained major injuries while the driver was trapped in the vehicle.

Engine 11 arrived on scene to find one patient on the ground and another in a vehicle. Requested the two medic units to continue to the scene.

There was one trauma activation in the incident. The second patient sustained minor injuries and refused treatment.

Pedestrians are rare on Kirker Pass, so it’s rather suspect that one happened to be struck by a roll over vehicle accident, did the pedestrian play a role in the incident?.

Yeah…there is an older lady that sits on the side just over the hill towards Pitts. She changes flowers. It’s sad and I sure hope it wasn’t her.

I see a guy with a larger boxer mix dog that walks a ways behind him, whom I think lives in the KP hills, walking both days and late nights up by Hess and also around Nortonville.
