Patient Rescued by Firefighters After Vehicle Travels Off Roadway on Marsh Creek Road

At 5:16 am Tuesday, firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vehicle off the roadway and down a ravine in the 14400 block of Marsh Creek Road in the City of Clayton.

The call was reported by a subject who observed the crash between Gill Dr. and Sycamore Springs.

By 5:27 am, CALFIRE arrived on scene to locate the vehicle off the roadway. The vehicle was 50-yards down the ravine and were attempting to go downhill to make contact. Upon locating the victim, the victim was self-extricated, however, a second engine was requested for a rope rescue because they were unable to get the victim up the hill.

By 5:44 am, the medical helicopter was cancelled per the medic on scene. The rescue team was also cancelled as they were able to get the patient up the hill.

By 6:15 am, the scene was terminated and CHP was on hand waiting for a tow truck.
