by ECT

At about 1:30 this morning, Deputy Sheriffs were dispatched to a report of a stabbing at the 7-Eleven convenience store on the 5800 block of Pacheco Boulevard near Center Avenue.

When Deputies arrived they made contact with a store clerk who was suffering from stab wounds. Apparently a customer attacked the clerk after being told to leave the store.

The fire department and an ambulance arrived to treat the victim, who was later transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The victim is expected to survive.

Deputies, with the assistance of Pleasant Hill police officers, conducted a search for the suspect but were not able to locate him.

Sheriff’s Office Detectives later identified the suspect as 37-year-old Aaron Goode, a transient. He was last wearing a black colored hat, blue sweatshirt, blue jeans and was riding a bicycle.

Anyone with any information on this case or the location of the suspect is asked to contact the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Investigation Division at (925) 313-2600. For any tips, please email: [email protected] or call (866) 846-3592 to leave an anonymous voice message.
