At 12:28 pm Monday, Moraga-Orinda Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Highway 24 at Fish Ranch which also created a vegetation fire.
As of 1:30 pm, the fire has been upgraded to a 2-alarm response with the Contra Costa County fire chief requesting all lanes of traffic being shut down per CHP.
As of 1:32 pm, the fire was estimated at 3-acres burned with 15% containment.
As of 1:38 pm, 6 acres on fire running up the ridge.
As of 1:43 pm, 10 acres on fire running up the ridge. 20% contained.
As of 1:46 pm, 20 acres on fire, 20% contained. Still no structures threatened.
As of 1:50 pm, 25 acres, 20% contained. Air tankers responding.
As of 2:40 pm, fire was holding to 25 acres, 75% contained. Units were being released from the scene.
