Here is a list of events for the weekend of October 5-6 in East Contra Costa County and some around the entire county.

Saturday, October 5

  • 8:00 am: Brentwood Farmers Market from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm in downtown Brentwood.
  • 9:00 am: Antioch Police Neighborhood Cleanup: Join Antioch Police for a cleanup in the area of O St, W 4th St and L St. area. We will meet at Prosserville Park located at 1124 W 6th St, Antioch, CA 94509
  • 9:00 am: Pittsburg Farmers Market. The farmers market is open 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Old Town Plaza and open each Saturday through Oct. 19.
  • 10:00 am: G&S Farms U-Pick Pumpkin Patch, Corn Maze and family fun at the corner of Sellers Road and Chestnut in Brentwood.
  • 10:00 am: Three Nunn Farms U-Pick Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze at the corner of Vasco and Marsh Creek Road in Brentwood.
  • 10:00 am: Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery Halloween Costume Giveaway. This is aimed to re-spook, re-wear, re-scare from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at 555 California Ave in Pittsburg. You are invited to come out and pick a free costume.
  • 11:00 am: Rivertown Brews & Barbecue Cookoff – join downtown Antioch as they host their third annual event which include cooking, live music, car show, beer and bbq. The event is between 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  • 11:00 am: Clayton OktoberFest:  The 16th Annual Oktoberfest presented by the Clayton Business and Community Association.  Join us in downtown Clayton on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th. Enjoy beer, food, and live music in our authentic German Biergarten, Arts & Crafts Vendors, plus a large Carnival for kids of all ages.
  • 10:00 am: Pleasant Hill Art, Wine & Music Festival: From Enjoy Free Live Music, Arts & Crafts , Family Entertainment, Premium Wine Pavilion  and a Beer Garden. Event runs from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm  at 40 Crescent Dr, Pleasant Hill,
  • 12:00 pm: RICHMOND RED & WHITE BIKE & CAR SHOW is set for Sat. OCT. 5th Noon-5:00pm. Featuring the First Annual Vintage Chopper Show & Lifestyle Event!

  • 12:00 pm: K9 Paw Print Rescue Event: Come and meet the pups! Are you looking for a new furry friend?  We have several amazing dogs available for adoption. They are all looking for their forever families and have lots of love to give. Fill out an application at www.K9PPR.org. Event is from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Pet Food Express on Lone Tree Way in Antioch.
  • 1:00 pm: Tammy Brazil Memorial Dutch Oven Cookoff at Smith Family Farms. PLEASE come and support Contra Costa and Alameda 4-H and FFA Scholarships Awards…(money and belt buckles). AND sample some AMAZING food and help support our cause… 5$ admission. Food should be done in all camps for tasting between 2-3 pm. Come early and SMELL the food and watch come out of the Dutch ovens and ALSO purchase raffle tickets to win some wonderful donated prizes!
  • 2:00 pm: Ava Goes Book Signing at Barns and Noble in Antioch (5709 Lone Tree Way). Join us for our books signing/fundraising with proceeds going to Special Haven. Special Haven is providing a multi-sensory environment for the benefit and development of children and adults with Special Needs in the local community of Antioch and the surrounding towns.
  • 5:00 pm: The 2019 Antioch Hall of Fame Induction Gala: The 2019 Antioch Sports Legends Gala is an annual event to honor “The Best if the Best” in athletics, coaching and community leadership in sports in our community from both schools, both genders, in all sports.
  • 6:00 pm: 2019 Contra Costa Winegrowers Vintner Dinner: Please join us for the 2019 Contra Costa County Winegrowers Vintner’s Dinner being held on October 5, 2019 at 6:30 PM. This event will be hosted at Smith’s Landing, 1 Marina Plaza, Antioch Ca 94509. Arrive and cleanse your palate with a wonderful glass of Sparkling wine while admiring the Delta views until Chef Jesus calls us to the tables for dinner. That night we’ll enjoy a five course feast! Each course to be paired with 2 wines, hand selected to compliment the chef’s hand and nature’s best. We know that you’ll not want to miss this annual feast and celebration of the new season.
  • 6:00 pm: Antioch Speedway Hosts Donna Soares memorial Hall of Fame Night at the Contra Costa Event Park in Antioch: The All Star Racing Series A Modifieds will be competing for $1,500 to win. Also in action will be DIRTcar Late Models, Limited Late Models, Hobby Stocks and Vintage Hardtops.
  • 8:00 pm: El Campanil hosts Mike Marino’s Make America Italian Again 2019 World Comedy Tour. 2019 World Comedy Tour Starring Mike Marino With Special Comedian Guest…Bay Area’s own Johnny Steele  Saturday October 5 at 8:00 pm

  • 2:00 pm: Smiths Landing Hosts Sunday Sessions with Maraget Niles. Join Smiths Landing for for an acoustic performance along with a discounted offerings from our lounge menu. 2pm – 5pm. Local Bay Area singer-songwriter Margaret Niles writes songs that speak to the whole-hearted, occasionally awkward, vulnerable magic of love.   • 3:00 pm: Garuda Blue with Mads Tolling “Downtown Jazz to Uptown Funk” at El Campanil in Antioch.  Garuda Blue is a San Francisco-based jazz band that specializes in exceptional entertainment. The band is known for delivering slick arrangements of well-known jazz tunes, burning solos, and a youthful, fun, hip, positive attitude in their concerts. Composed of some of the finest up and coming jazz musicians in the Bay Area, Garuda Blue brings professionalism, high quality of musicianship, and sophistication to any event.
  • 6:00 pm: Red Caboose Restaurant hosts Summery Country Sundays with “American Made” (210 Fulton Shipyard Rd, Antioch).
