The Brentwood Farmers’ Market on is open on Saturday from 8am to 12pm, Oak St. and First St.  New this year – they have expanded around the corner onto Oak St.

November 21, 2015 will b the last day of the market for the year.

Saturday November 21, 2015   2:00 pm The worlds of Oz and Wonderland collide in this fantastically fun romp, cleverly and carefully adapted from the works of L. Frank Baum and Lewis Carroll.  Dorothy Gale has made her way to the end of the Yellow Brick Road, and the wonderful Wizard of Oz is just about to help her get back home to Kansas.  But before she can hop into the wizard’s balloon, another whirlwind appears over the Emerald City, sweeping Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion away to Wonderland.

VFW-Holiday-BoutiqueNovember 21: VFW Holiday Boutique

You are invited to join the VFW Auxiliary Post 10789 on Saturday November 21 between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for their Holiday Boutique and craft sale located at 757 First St., in Brentwood.

Thee event will feature Lunch, snacks and beverages are available for purchase, and crafts and games for children while parents shop.

Antioch-Park-MakeoverNovember 21: Ribbon Cutting at Contra Loma Estates Park

On Saturday, you are invited to a ribbon cutting at Contra Loma Estates Park located at November 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. to noon at 2395 Manzanita Way.

The renovated Contra Loma Estates Park includes:

  • A brand new play structure for toddlers and school-age children
  • Play structures designed for children of all abilities, such as children in wheel chairs or with other special needs
  • A foam floor which replaces sand that often contained needles, used condoms and glass

Brentwood-Winter-WalkAboutNovember 21: Downtown Brentwood Winter WalkAbout

Sponsored by the Downtown Brentwood Coalition and the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, you are invited to join the 2015 winter WalkAbout in downtown Brentwood.
2:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Santa’s Village in Little Miss Everything and Elf Stops at businesses with goodies and crafts for kids along with Arts & Crafts on First Street.
 You are also invited to join the Restaurant Tasting Tour from 2:00 -5:00 pm for $15 per person (only 300 tickets available). Restaurants include Sweeny’s, CAPS, Pho Vietnam, MJ’s Café, TL Cakes, and La Fuente.

At 5:00 pm, the Annual Lighted Holiday Parade begins with the parade starting on First at Chestnut and proceeds to Maple, turns left onto Second and turns left to Oak.

Delta Tactical Training Group 14November 22: Basic Handgun Training Course

Delta Tactical Training Group announced a series of upcoming beginner handgun training courses starting this Saturday and will run through January. This class is designed to help civilians become more familiar with firearms. Classes are $120 + $10 range fee.

November 26: Brentwood Turkey TrotIMG_5959

On November 26, you are invited to join the 2nd Annual Turkey Trot for Schools. This 5K/10K event benefits the Brentwood Union School District and Liberty Union High School District athletic programs.

Last year, more than 600 people participated in the event which is aimed at promoting health, athletics, and education.

The race will begin at the Streets of Brentwood (2565 Sand Creek Road, Brentwood)
If you register before November 9th, you will receive a free Turkety Trot t-shirt.

More than 40-vendors will be on hand for the Furry Friends Food Relief program at for November 27 at the Shadow Lake Golf Club Event Center (401 West Country Club Drive, Brentwood).

The free admission event is aimed to benefit the Furry Friends Food Relief Program and Homeless Animals Lifeline Organization. The event will feature photos with Santa, raffles, craft vendors, and more.

December 3: Pittsburg Tree Lighting
Come and celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with a Tree Lighting. The City of Pittsburg Parks & Recreation Department invites you to attend the Lighting Ceremony of the 2015 Holiday Tree on Thursday, Dec. 3rd at 5:30 pm.

The fully decorated City tree is located at 4th Street at Railroad Avenue in Old Town Pittsburg. Show your holiday spirit and start a family tradition by attending the annual lighting of the City’s tree.

You will be able to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate courtesy of Steeltown Coffee while listening to holiday music performed by our own Pittsburg Community Band. Also, members of the Black Diamond Ballet Company will be on hand to give a “sneak preview” of their up-coming performance of the Nutcracker Ballet.


December 5: DASH Christmas Boutique

Bark Bazaar before Christmas located at 2725 Minta Lane in Antioch. Hours are 10a.m. to 4p.m. Santa and Mrs Claus will be there for pictures; kids or furry friends. Several vendors will be on hand. If you would like a table, please call 925-219-0151.  Cost for vendors is $40.

 


Holiday-DelightDecember 5: Celebrate Antioch Foundation Hosts Holiday Delites

Join the Celebrate Antioch Foundation as they host their annual Holiday Delites event in downtown Antioch beginning at 3:30 pm.

The event will feature a parade (2nd Street) with a lighted boat show on the river and an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Clause.

December 5: Oakley Christmas Tree Lighting
JoiOakley Tree Lighting 2013n the City of Oakley at the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, December 5th, starting at 4:00 p.m. at Civic Center Plaza (3231 Main Street).

There will be non‐profit booths with games and activities, choir performances, free refreshments and more. Santa Claus will be on hand to visit and pose for photos. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the moment.

The 30ʹ Christmas tree in front of City Hall will be illuminated at approximately 6:00 p.m

 


Holliday LightsDecember 6: Tree of Lights 2015
Hospice East Bay invites the public to participate in the 29th Annual Tree of Lights ceremonies that are held in Contra Costa County throughout November and December.

The ceremonies provide a way for community members to honor the lives of their friends and loved ones. Everyone is invited to participate in the events which include music, poetry, remembrances by family members and hospice staff, and the special moment when the trees light up.

By dedicating a Memorial Light for a minimum gift of $25, you can honor someone you love while directly supporting end-of-life patient care. Memorial donors of $100 and higher will have the option to have their names listed in the lighting ceremony program of their choice. Event sponsorships start at $250.

Funds raised allow Hospice East Bay to provide essential programs and services such as the Vigil Program which ensures no one has to die alone, the Bridge Program for grieving children and adolescents and Bruns House, our inpatient hospice facility in Alamo.

IMG_2973December 12: Kiwanis Club 39th Annual Holiday Run and Walk

The Kiwanis Club of the Delta is pleased to announce the 39th annual Holiday Run and Walk for Health.

This event helps promote and build a healthy community –starting with our youth! Families, friends, community groups, and schools are encouraged to participate! The top three schools at each grade level (elementary, middle and high school) with the largest number of participants will earn awards.

Individual prizes will also be presented. Proceeds from the event benefit local schools, youth, and libraries! Last year alone, the event raised $10,000 to support local charitable needs.

This year’s Holiday Run and Walk for Health will take place Saturday, December 12th at the Contra Loma Regional Park.

Registration is now open at WWW.HOLIDAYRUN.ORG. Register early and receive a discount of $5.00 for an individual and $10.00 per family.


 

December 12: Oakley Breakfast with Santa
Don’t miss your chance to see Santa on Saturday, December 12th at 10:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers (3231 Main St). Santa will be taking time out of his busy schedule to join us for breakfast and visit with children. The continental breakfast will include pastries, fruit, juice, milk, and coffee.

Children only, can also expect to receive a small gift from Santa. Parents may bring cameras to capture the special moment. Pre‐registration is required and space is limited.

December 12:  Wreaths Across America 2015
For the first time the Union Cemetery in Brentwood will be participating in Wreaths Across America Wreath Laying Ceremony on Saturday, December 12 at 9AM.

This ceremony is coordinated by Anne Loucks Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution with support of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 10789 and the Union Cemetery.  The event is open to the public.  We hope to be able to place wreaths on all 300 veterans’ graves.  Wreaths are ordered from Wreaths Across America located in Maine and are delivered the day before the ceremony.  We are reaching out to the community to purchase a wreath(s) to donate.

NOTE – Wreaths MUST BE PURCHASED BY NOV 30

December 12: Pittsburg Holiday Parade
Santa will arrive in Pittsburg on Saturday, Dec. 12th during the City’s annual Holiday Parade. The Parade which will step off at 11:00 am will proceed down Railroad Avenue from 8th St. to 4th St. with the Pittsburg High School Marching Show Band escorting Santa down Railroad Avenue.

If you or your group would like to participate in this year’s parade, the deadline to sign up is Nov. 27th. After the parade, from noon to 4pm in the Plaza, Peppermint Playland will be open for kids of all ages to enjoy crafts, Jumpy Houses, a Magic Show, a Holiday Boutique and visits with Santa.
