National Weather Service Issues Weather Advisory for Sunday Morning

The National Weather Service issued a significant weather advisory for the San Francisco Bay Area including Contra Costa County through around 6:15 am Sunday.

The weather service reported that around 5:35 am, the doppler radar was tracking an intense showers and isolated thunderstorms moving through the North bay and approaching the San Francisco Peninsula. These showers and isolated thunderstorms have a history of producing brief heavy downpours, lightning, and small hail along with gusty winds also being possible.

A large line of showers and thunderstorms will continue to move through the Bay Area this morning. These storms will be capable of producing heavy rain, small hail, gusty winds and even lightning. Thunder roars go indoors!.
