Motorcycle Accident Shuts Down Highway 4 in Discovery Bay

Highway 4 was temporary shutdown in both directions Wednesday night as Stockton Fire Crews worked to airlift a motorcyclist who suffered major injuries after he flipped his bike and fell into an embankment around 7:00 pm near Discovery Bay.

The incident occurred at the first Bridge just outside Discovery Bay and backed up traffic all the way to Discovery Bay Boulevard.  Highway 4 was shut down in order to land a helicopter in the area to transport the victim who suffered major injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
