Mother Honors Her Deceased Baby at Donate Life Run/Walk

by ECT

Brandi Coffman of Brentwood, CA lost her 8-week-old son, Blake, three years ago and made the decision that he was going to save lives through organ and tissue donation.  It has been a tough road, but Brandi and her family have been able to heal by sharing Blake’s story.

Brandi, along with her family and friends, will be participating in the 2016 Donate Life Run/Walk 5K, 10K to take place on September 10 in Walnut Creek. The event allows them to come together as Team B.A.M. (Blake Anthony Mineishi), lace up their walking shoes and join other donor families on the path to healing.

Now in its sixth year, the Donate Life Run/Walk highlights the life-saving and healing power of organ and tissue donation. It is organized by Donor Network West, the organ procurement organization that saves and heals lives through donation in northern California and Nevada. Among the close to 1,000 people who will be attending are organ and tissue transplant recipients, donor families, hospital partners, political leaders, and community supporters.
