Mortgage-Free Home to be Awarded to Military Hero at Leer Vineyards

by ECT

Byron, Calif., (July 16, 2015) – A Purple Heart war hero will be surprised with the keys to a mortgage-free home on Friday, July 17 at Leer Vineyards. The presentation and Clay Walker concert is a collaboration among Leer Vineyards, Wells Fargo, and the Military Warriors Support Foundation. The organization awards mortgage-free homes to wounded heroes injured during combat in service to our country.

Founder of the Military Warriors Support Foundation and Lieutenant General Leroy Sisco, (Ret.), from San Antonio, Texas, will award the new home to a veteran and his family – who think they are simply special guests of the concert.

“This is a very fragile time for these heroes, and their families, and it is our goal to provide programs that facilitate a smooth and successful transition,” said LTG Sisco.

In addition to receiving a mortgage-free home, each recipient of the Foundation’s “Homes4WoundedHereos” program receives three years of family and financial mentoring so that they may learn the skills necessary to become happy and successful homeowners.

“This program not only changes the lives of the hero and their family, but it also changes the lives of the generations that follow. It is truly an honor for us to support our country’s heroes in this way,” said Stefan Leer, who owns Leer Vineyards with his wife Tanisha.

Recently, during the severe California drought, Leer dealt with his own struggles as water to his 36 acres of vineyards was cut-off by a State Water Resources Control Board decision in an effort to conserve water. Despite having to pay more than 3000 percent more for supplemental water to keep his grapes alive, Stefan, Tanisha and their four children never waivered in plans to support the Military Warriors Support Foundation. Beyond hosting benefit concerts, the family vineyard has created two specialty wines that help support military heroes. A portion of the proceeds from their Heroic Red and Vallant White are donated to the Military Warriors Support Foundation.

This Friday the Leer’s patriotism and patronage continues as they host their second concert to support military families. Gates open at 5 p.m. for the multi-platinum country music star Clay Walker, with special guest Coffey Anderson. VIP meet-and-greet begins at 6:15 p.m., and the concert starts at 7 p.m. on the Leer Vineyards softball field.

General Admission tickets are $45. VIP seats are $95. The VIP seats with meet-and-greet have sold out. For tickets and additional information, please call 210-259-1648 or email [email protected]. Solei Pizza, Flavor Face Food Truck will offer food for purchase. Leer Vineyards wine will be available for purchase.
