Morgan Territory Road Closed, No Timetable on Re-opening

by ECT

Contra Costa County is closing Morgan Territory Road between Oak Hill Lane and Williams Road to all traffic immediately due to a rock/mud slide at this area.

Crews are monitoring the slide as it is continuing to develop and as a precaution have closed the roadway. There is no access to Marsh Creek Road via Morgan Territory Road from south of Oak Hill Lane.

All traffic will need to access Morgan Territory Road from Manning Road and Livermore Avenue via Alameda County.

At this time, the county does not have an estimate as to when the roadway will reopen as Contra Costa County may have to repair a water line.

I saw a news report from Sunday and in the video and appeared water was still flowing from the Watermain pipe. The water has been turned off so I was wondering why water is still coming from the pipe? Here in Southern California a damaged sprinkler pipe caused a major slide http://abc7.com/1752925/ I would think the water flowing from the water main pipe is not helping the situation.
