Just before 8:00 pm Sunday, a trio of armed robbery suspects held up an Arco Station in Rheem Valley in Moraga which led to a multi-police agency pursuit which ended in the City of Antioch.

The pursuit, which reached speeds of 110 MPH, came to an end after a vehicle crash occurred off Highway 4 in the City of Antioch at Hillcrest and Larkspur around 8:40 pm.

At the time of the crash, it was reported that Pittsburg Police were in pursuit of the suspect along with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Lafayette Police Department, Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office and the Antioch Police Department.

At the time of the crash, Contra Costa County Firefighters were directed to stage at the scene because police had guns drawn on the suspect vehicle. At least two suspects were provided with directions to get out of the vehicle–both complied with police commands.

A third occupant, was believed to be tased, its unclear if he exited the vehicle after the crash and began to attempt to flee the scene–it was reported that one suspect was tased twice.

It is believed a firearm was recovered along with another weapon and a cash-register drawer from the gas station, but those details have yet to be confirmed by police.

According to News 24-680, the suspects roughed up an employee of the gas station and robbing him at gunpoint before fleeing through Lafayette and onto northbound I680.

They also reported the getaway vehicle used in the theft, a black or dark blue Nissan Sentra with paper plates. One suspect attempted to flee the scene while another was tased and was treated by AMR on scene.
