Melendez Introduces House Resolution 125 Calling for Dynamex Special Session

by ECT

Sacramento, Calif. – Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez (R-Lake Elsinore) announced today that she introduced Assembly House Resolution 125, which asks the Governor to convene a special session to address the impacts of the Dynamex Operations West v. Superior Court decision.

“I am frustrated that the Democrat majority has ‘run-out-the-clock’ on this legislative session and allowed Californians to lose their jobs and small business owners to lose their businesses in the wake of the Dynamex decision,” said Melendez.

“As a small business owner, I understand how technology and innovation are changing how people work in the workplace,” said Melendez.  “I also understand people would rather spend time at home with their families instead of being prisoners on jammed and congested freeways.  A special session will allow the Legislature to address the chilling and detrimental impacts the Dynamex decision will have on our communities or on the quality of life choices that nearly 2 million Californians have made in order to work independently.”

Assemblywoman Melissa A. Melendez represents the 67th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, Murrieta, Menifee, Wildomar and a portion of Hemet. It also includes the Riverside County unincorporated areas of Lake Mathews, Good Hope, Nuevo, and Winchester. Follow her on Twitter: @asmMelendez
