Here is a nice note from US Congressman Jerry McNerney thanking voters for returning him to office. The letter comes via the Brentwood Press.
I was first inspired to run for office by my son, Mike. Mike entered the armed services after 9/11 and called me while stationed overseas and said, “Dad, I think you should serve the country by running for office.”
That commitment to public service remains alive in me today. Having gotten to know the issues and the people of our area, I remain invigorated to help address the challenges that we face in our community. This is a wonderful region with a strong sense of community and I want to keep working on the issues that matter to us.
I will continue to partner with people at the local level and keep my door open to hear your concerns. I have always tried to work with my colleagues across the aisle and will continue to fight to achieve our goals in a bipartisan fashion.
Thank you for the honor of allowing me to keep serving our community in the next Congress.
