Update: Missing Martinez Woman Located Says Sheriffs Office

The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff announced Wednesday morning they are searching for a 81-year-old missing person in Martinez.

According to the Sheriffs Office Last night at about 10:00, Deputies were dispatched to a report of a missing person at a residence on the 4800 block of 4084 Via De Flores in Martinez.

Upon arrival, family members reported Mary Madrid (81-year-old), who suffers from dementia, walked away from the residence around 5:30 PM. Initially, the family believed Madrid was at a friend’s house but later realized she was nowhere to be found. Madrid’s family believes she walked off, became confused, and cannot find her way home.

Deputies conducted a systematic and thorough search of the residence and surrounding areas with negative results. Martinez PD assisted with a canine search with negative results.

Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue also conducted a search for her. She has not been located.

Update:
At 10:00 am Wednesday, the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff reported they have located Ms. Madrid. No further details were provided.
