Effective immediately, the Los Vaqueros Reservoir and Watershed is observing temporary closure through at least April 7 following the Stay Home Order effective 12 am March 17 in Contra Costa County and other Bay Area jurisdictions.
While the District said they understand the importance and benefits of recreation during stressful times, they are obligated to do their part to safeguard public health so the surrounding communities can continue to receive reliable, high-quality water. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
They also said at this time, they will likely need to postpone their annual Trout Fishing Derby in April. It is hard to make plans too far in advance, so they will announce the timing of the derby once we know more.
