Local Veterans Day Events in Contra Costa County

The following are local Veterans Day ceremonies in Contra Costa County which include the city of Antioch, City of Brentwood, City of Oakley, Town of Moraga, City of Pinole and City of Walnut Creek.


Antioch

In the City of Antioch, there are a series of events that kickoff at 8:30 with the Antioch Rivertown Veterans Lions Club’s Pancake Breakfast. A Ceremony starts at 10:00 am where they will be rededicating the Antioch Veterans Memorial, announcing the Antioch Veteran and Lifetime Veteran of the Year, plus the High School Battle of the Marching Band (Antioch marina)

The Veterans Day Parade will begin promptly at 11:00 am at the Veteran’s Memorial. Veteran’s are encouraged to walk in the Parade behind the Veteran and Lifetime Veteran of the Year

1:00 pm: The VFW Veterans Day BBQ (Antioch VFW, 815 Fulton Shipyard Rd)


Brentwood

Join the American Legion Post 202 for a Veterans Day honoring all those who served. This is a free event open to the public. The ceremony is set for Nov. 11 at Veterans Park located a 3841 Balfour Road, Brentwood. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 am.


Moraga

A ceremony will be held at the Moraga Commons Veterans Memorial to celebrate Veterans Day beginning at 9:00 am. The ceremony will feature speakers as well as have refreshments.


Oakley

The City of Oakley will host its 9th Annual Veterans Day Observance Ceremony on Thursday, November 11th at 11:00 a.m. in Civic Center Plaza. The pro gram will include the Presentation of Colors, student essays, rifle salute and taps to honor those who have served.

John Amie is the keynote speaker, the Freedom High School Marching Band will perform, and Girl Scout Troop #33390 will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. The Heritage High School USAF JROTC cadets are scheduled present the Colors and Marine Corps League Detachment 1155 will perform the volley salute and taps


Pinole

Join the Pinole Historical Society and City of pinole beginning at 11:00 am for a Veterans Day Memorial and Flag Retirement at Fernandez Park, Pinole.


Walnut Creek

Join the City of Walnut Creek’s Veterans Day Ceremony as we pay tribute to all who have served on Thursday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at the Lesher Center for the Arts. The free ceremony is open to the public.


East Bay Parks Offer Entrance Free for Active and Retired Military

The East Bay Regional Park District honors active and retired military members on Veterans Day with free access and parking at Regional Parks, including Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont. Fee waiver only covers parking and park entry.

Fee waiver DOES NOT include dog fees, boat launch or inspection fees, fishing permits, or concessions, such as merry-go-round, train, etc.
