Local Police Departments Set to Host National Night Out

Local Police Departments in Contra Costa County have began announcing they will be hosting their 2022 National Night Out events.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances

Below are details for the Antioch Police Department, Brentwood Police Department, Oakley Police Department and Pittsburg Police Department.


Antioch Police Department

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community relationships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring place to live. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

On “National Night Out,” Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., a representative from the Antioch Police Department, Antioch Police Crime Prevention Commission, Citizen Volunteer, and/or a member of the City Council may visit each participating neighborhood.

Brentwood Police Department

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community relationships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring place to live. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

This year the event will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd, from 6PM to 9PM.

If your neighborhood would like to host a gathering and would like members of the Brentwood Police Department to stop by, please contact Officer Laughridge via email at [email protected]  or call 925-809-7778.


Oakley Police Department

The City of Oakley is taking part in National Night Out 2022. This year’s event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 2nd from 5 PM – 9 PM. Neighborhoods in Oakley are invited to participate with other neighborhoods across the country in celebration of National Night Out. National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event that is sponsored nationally by the National Association of Town Watch.

Participating neighborhoods nationwide are asked to turn on outside lights, lock their doors, and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. Registration is free and gives police and other city representatives an opportunity to attend neighborhood events as time and circumstances permit.

National Night Out is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generate support for and participation in, local anti-crime efforts and
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships

Neighborhoods will be hosting a variety of events ranging from small potlucks and BBQs to large block parties. Some additional event ideas include but are not limited to, ice cream socials, disaster preparedness, games, food or clothing donations, discussing neighborhood issues or setting neighborhood goals, or discussing and planning a Neighborhood Watch Program. It’s up to you, be creative, have fun and celebrate your neighborhood.

Register your neighborhood for this year’s event today. You do not have to be a current Neighborhood Watch neighborhood to participate. National Night Out is for everyone! Register and begin planning your event as soon as possible.

Pittsburg Police Department

Join the City of Pittsburg as the Pittsburg Police Department host its National Night Out event, which builds relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.

This is a free event that will feature:

  • Rides
  • Police K9
  • Swat team
  • police motorcycle
  • crawdad fishing
  • fire truck
  • DJ & Music
  • Exhibtiors
  • PHS Cheer
  • CSI / Drone

The event will be held at Small World Park located at  2555 Harbor St. Pittsburg, CA
