Lafayette Art and Wine Festival Cancelled

by ECT

The organizers of the Lafayette Art and Wine Festival cancelled the event this week over concerns of COVID-19. The festival was scheduled for Sept. 18 and 19th

Here is the announcement:

One of the many charms of the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival is how it integrates into our downtown and allows people to freely mix and mingle at vendor booths, local businesses, local restaurants, and music stages.

But as we all know, there has been a significant setback in the public health response to the pandemic, driven by the delta variant and low vaccination rates (not in Lamorinda, but elsewhere). Logistical issues have made it impossible to implement effective guidelines or rules to allow for a safe and comfortable event for everyone. Therefore, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 2021 𝐋𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐭 & 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫.

We thank our volunteers, especially our committee members and the Chamber Board, our partners, and of course, all our sponsors, beer & wine booth hosts, vendors, artists and musicians for understanding that the health of our community is of utmost concern.

We look forward to a terrific 2022 Lafayette Art & Wine Festival where we can once again welcome everyone to our charming downtown and celebrate together with amazing music, art, food, wine, beer, shopping, and friendship.

2022: 3rd weekend, September 17-18 and in 2023: 4th weekend, September 23-24

In an effort to keep our local economy and our small business community healthy, we encourage anyone who is eligible to get a vaccine. Let’s keep doing the right things for our community.
