SACRAMENTO, CA – Today Assemblyman Kevin Kiley (R-Rocklin) released the following statement calling on Governor Gavin Newsom to withdraw his executive vaccine mandate for middle and high school students following the defeat of SB 871 (Pan):

“Thanks to overwhelming opposition from California families, SB 871 has been defeated. This is a major victory for students and parents across California who made their voices heard.

“It is also a victory for representative government. This is exactly why we have a legislative process and why our country has rejected one-man rule since its Founding.

“I am calling on Governor Newsom to respect the will of California families and immediately rescind his executive vaccine mandate for middle and high school students.”

Assemblyman Kevin Kiley represents the 6th Assembly District, which includes the Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado County communities of Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Granite Bay, Lincoln, Loomis, Orangevale, Penryn, Rocklin, Roseville, and Sheridan.
