This past week, Steve Albanese has been sworn in as the next police chief of the Pittsburg Police Department. Albanese takes over for Chief Chief Brian Addington who announced in February he would be retiring in May.
Man Shot in Gunfight
The police department also responded to a July 17 (Sunday) shooting at 7:20 am where received a report of a male struck by gunfire and was on E 12th Street in the City of Pittsburg. More than 40 gunshots were located. According to preliminary information, two groups of people exchanged gunfire where a black SUV carried three individuals which two got out and began firing on another vehicle. In response, the passenger of another vehicle got out and began firing back. At least one person was struck in the exchange. — see story.
