California — Gubernatorial candidate John Cox issued a statement regarding the Mollie Tibbetts case on Tuesday.
“As a father of four daughters, it crushes my heart to see yet another family go through this nightmare,” said candidate for California Governor, John Cox. “Those who want to abolish ICE need to consider the consequences of their rash proposal.”
“The Mollie Tibbetts case is one more tragic example of a senseless loss that never should have happened, similar to Kate Steinle’s heartbreaking death in San Francisco,” Cox said.
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement statement said, “On Aug. 21, ICE lodged a detainer with the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office on Christhian Bahena-Rivera, 24, an illegal alien from Mexico, after he was arrested on murder charges.”
John Cox is running for California Governor against Gavin Newsom. Newsom attended an “Abolish ICE” themed rally in early July before back-pedaling on the issue.
