House, State Senate and Assembly Election Results

by ECT

No real surprises last night in the US House of Representatives, California State Senate or State Assembly races as Democrats won their races with ease.

Reps. Mark DeSaulnier and John Garamedi both won in landslides while Josh Harder will take the win in District 9 which is the area Rep. Jerry McNerney was in before redistricting–District 9 covers unincorporated Brentwood, the Town of Discovery Bay and Byron.

One race worth watching is the US House of Representatives District 3 race between Kemit Jones (D) and Kevin Kiley (R) who remain in a tight race. Kiley was behind early, but overtook Jones overnight. Kiley leads with 53.1% of the vote and has a 9,000 vote lead.

In the state assembly, Lori Wilson cruised to victory in District 11 earning 58% of the vote. The large district includes Antioch, Oakley, Brentwood, Discovery Bay and Byron and Solano County. Buffy Wicks (D-14) and Tim Grayson (D-15) also won their assembly races with ease.
