Hook Line and Sinker: Tournament of Champions Winners Crowned

Over the weekend, Hook Line & Sinker hosted its annual Tournament of Champions Bass Tournament where the team of Patrick Zapponi and Wayne Antoine scored a total weight of 53.09 lbs for the win.

Second place was John Garrett and Tony Vaughn who scored 51.06 lbs while third place winners Donniell Butler and Hulen Johnson scored 50.67 lbs over the weekend. Butler and Johnson also scored the Big Fish win over the weekend scoring a 8.64 lb bass.

• 44.28 lbs – Ronald Vanairsdale & Ed Ortman
• 37.12 lbs – Tom Lutz & Brandon Lum
• 34.44 lbs – Chris Trumbull & Donny Yamasaki
• 33.46 lbs – Bruce Lunghi & Jacob Hubbartt
• 32.91 lbs – John Martin & Bob Squaglia
• 32.86 lbs – Brian Desilva & Pat Masterson
• 32.36 lbs – Tom Fereria & Geronimo Canjura

The Tournament of Champions is the Hook Line and Sinker Championship Tournament where the top 35 teams who qualify may participate in the Bass Tournament. To qualify, you have to get a certain amount of points while participating. A team may also qualify if they won a tournament and fished three tournaments

IMG_0934Meanwhile, Jack Ball and Thomas Lopez were the Hook, Line and Sinker Anglers of the Year scoring the most total points over the tournament series where more than 150 teams participated over the winter series.

Ball and Lopez won the first tournament of the year and were consistent throughout all six tournaments. For being angler of the year, the team won two fishing jackets provided by Simms.

All tournaments were launched out of Russo’s Marina on Bethel Island in Contra Costa County.
