Highway 4: Vehicle Becomes Engulfed in Flames After Crash

At 5:48 am Wednesday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle crash on westbound Highway 4 near Loveridge with a report of a person trapped and a vehicle possibly on fire.

While responding, it was reported there was no entrapment and all occupants were out of the vehicles.

By 5:54 am, Truck 83 arrived on scene reporting that this was a two-vehicle crash with one vehicle fully involved and spreading to a second vehicle. A second AMR unit was requested to the scene.

CHP was reporting that at least 2-lanes of traffic were blocked.

Expect delays.

That was a BAD commute yesterday…. reminded me of the “olden days” before the freeway was expanded
