Gun Buyback Event Set for Nov. 16 in Concord

by ECT

The Concord Police Department in partnership with the Clayton and Walnut Creek Police Departments will be hosting a “community gun buyback event” at the ‪Concord Pavilion‬.

Date: ‪November 16, 2019‬
Time: ‪10:00 am – 3:00 pm‬.
Location: Concord Pavilion (‪2000 Kirker Pass Rd. Concord, CA.‬)

This event is an opportunity for Concord, Walnut Creek and Clayton residents to anonymously exchange their firearms for gift cards. Residents may be asked to show an ID or utility bill, but only to establish residency in one of the three sponsoring cities.

Participants will receive $200 in gift cards for an assault weapon, $100 in gift cards for handguns and $50 in gift cards for rifles or shotguns. Each attendee will have a maximum gift card limit of $1000. All of the guns collected will be destroyed on a later date.

Event Guidelines:

For safety reasons, residents interested in turning in their guns for gift cards are asked adhere to the following rules:

  • Transport all firearms to the ‪Concord Pavilion‬ unloaded
  • Keep all firearms stored in the trunk or locked container during transportation AND arrival
  • DO NOT remove the firearm from the vehicle!
  • Please remain inside of you vehicle during the actual surrendering process
  • There will no walk-up firearm surrenders.

We are excited to have this opportunity to partner with our neighboring agencies in an effort to keep our communities safe!

Just curious, how can you buy something back, that you never bought or purchased, with money you previously took from the owner… sounds like confiscation is disguised for the weak hearted America…

“Please remain inside of you vehicle during the actual SURRENDERING process”

TRAITORS!
-Don’t try and Church it up by calling it a ‘buy-back’
THIS IS JUST A STEP ON THE ROAD TO CONFISCATION FOR THE OATHBREAKING ORDER-FOLLOWERS AND TYRANTS!!

Someone on here always bitches about “patients” in ambulances or cities building houses, not “homes”. Why use the phrase “assault weapon”? What kind of BS line I that? Do they mean a center fire rifle? If I go turn my stuff in I would say everything I have is an assault weapon since the lousy rules the state has created are as vague as this definition in this article. Every officer or left leaning anti-gunner is going to call any gun they see an “assault weapon” if they can. Guns =bad just like Orange Man= bad

Let me explain it to you, Patty. A “house” is tangible. A building constructed from materials. You build a house. A “home” is intangible. You can make a house into a home. You can buy or sell or give away a house, but you can’t do that with a home. The two are not the same.

Not as far as an “assault” weapon … Anything can be an assault weapon, even a sharpened pencil or a lighted cigarette.
