At 5:30 pm Thursday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a traffic crash at Vasco Road and Walnut Blvd in the Town of Byron.
Upon arrival, firefighters located a two-vehicle crash with at least one person trapped. A medical helicopter was requested.
As crews worked the scene, a total of four AMR units were requested. Three pediatric patients were transported to Children’s Hospital in Oakland, including one by medical helicopter. Another pediatric patient and an adult male were also transported to Kaiser by ambulance.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
