Firefighters Limit Vegetation Fire on Vasco Road to 128-Acres

At 9:15 am Sunday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District and Alameda County Fire were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire along Vasco Road between the City of Brentwood and City of Livermore.

The fire was first reported to be approximently 1/2 acre in size.  CALFIRE was also responding.

By 9:28 am, Engine 59 reported a large column of smoke 5-miles out.  Units were still trying to make access. Battalion 5 requested CHP to the scene to shut down traffic in both directions due to smoke blowing across the roadway.

As of 9:35 am, fire estimated at 15-acres per BC5 on scene.

As of 9:40 am, CALFIRE says the fire has grown to approximently 40 acres.

As of 10:46 am, the fire was reported at 75 acres at 30% contained.

UPDATE
Fire has been contained to 75-acres.

Final Update
CALFIRE reported at 4:30 pm, the fire was at 128 acres and 100% contained.
